CONDITIONS FOR GRADUATION

A student is deemed to have graduated if he fulfills the following conditions:

• Total unit passed in between72–80
• CGPA is not less than 2.00
• The project work is successfully completed

(i)      The student’s attendance at lecture is not less than75% per semester

• The student has successfully completed his/her industrial attachment
• All prescribed core courses are passed
• The ND student has successfully completed his SIWES Programme

ORDER OF PROCEEDINGS

1.PROCESSION

The congregation will rise as the officials begins their procession into the auditorium. The process includes the students, Rector, Registrar, Heads of Departments, lecturers as they take their seats

2. NATIONAL ANTHEM
3. OPENING PRAYER
4. OPENING OF THE MATRICULATION

The Registrar will call on the Rector to declare the ceremony open. The Rector will then say: “I now declare the matriculation ceremony of Dalewares Institute of Technology open.”

5. The Registrar then call on the Heads of Department to present the matriculating students. The HOD will rise , pay obeisance to the Rector and say: Department of Networking and system security, Computer Hardware Engineering, Computer software Engineering ,Broadcast Journalism and Digital Multimedia Technology, Business Informatics in this scroll: He will then proceed to call their names before handling over the scroll to the Rector.

The Rector would then say: “I now admit the persons standing as a bona fide students of Dalewares Institute of Technology”.

6. THE REGISTRAR WILL INVITE THE RECTOR TO DELIVER HIS SPEECH
7. PLEDGE BY THE MATRICULATING STUDENTS

The Registrar will then call on the Dean of Students of Student Affairs to administer the pledge as follows:

“As a matriculating students of Dalewares Institute of Technology, Lagos.

I_____________________________ (mention your name) solemnly and sincerely promise and declare that I will pay due respect and obedience to the Rector, governing council and all other officers of the institution and I will faithfully observe all regulations which may, from time to time be issued by them for the good order and governance of Dalewares Institute of Technology. In addition, I faithfully promise to refrain from any act of violence and other actions calculated to disrupt the work of the institution or likely to bring the Dalewares Institute of Technology into disrupt. So help me God.  

8. VOTE OF THANKS & CLOSING

The Registrar will give the vote of thanks and thereafter invite the Rector to declare the ceremony closed. The Rector will say, I declare the matriculation ceremony of Dalewares Institute of Technology closed.”

BRIEF HISTORY ABOUT DALEWARES INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

Dalewares Institute of Technology (DIT) is a licensed and accredited Tertiary Institution in Nigeria established on 2007 by the Federal Ministry of Education (FME) in Nigeria under the regulatory authority of the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE). Dalewares Institute of Technology (DIT) is an Innovation Enterprise Institute (IEI) came as an outcome of the Tertiary Education Reform (TER) initiated by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Federal Ministry of Education in 2007. This is as a result of a major change in policy direction in the Tertiary education sector by the Federal Government in Nigeria.

The government having come full circle realized that in order to transform the Nigeria economy through industrialization, private sector participation in specialized areas in tertiary education can no longer be ignored for manpower development and transformation of the Nigeria citizen in various endeavors especially in entrepreneurial skills and abilities.

The Federal Ministry of Education under the Hon. Minister of Education Dr. Obi Ezekwesili        (former Vice President of the World Bank) came up with the Innovative Enterprise Institution (IEI) , an arm of the Tertiary Education sector in Nigeria to initially award National Innovative  Diploma(NID)and subsequently Higher National Innovation Diploma(HNID). Having same accreditation status with other Polytechnics in Nigeria but innovative and dynamic in curriculum development and delivery.
